That's exactly how I feel. It's easy to take things for granted when you don't know any other way of life. Too many Americans take what they have as Americans for granted. I was one of these people until I lived in a foreign country for the better part of a decade. Now I know how foolish I was in not realizing that living in the U.S. is as good as it gets in this world.
A2345exxx, on a personal note...why does it seem that you're surprised at times when your posts are met with hostility? You make antagonistic culturally directed remarks on a website that has an overwhelmingly American readership, as you know. For a 21 year old, you post some things that indicate that you possess above average intelligence with a desire for personal evolvement. So, why not take the next step and get rid of some of your cultural prejudices, especially against Americans who are truly fine people and well-wishers for the world, regardless of what their government happens to be doing. I think some of your remarks towards Americans are beneath you and betray your true feelings. If you don't realize this now, you will when you get a little older.
